Suppurative inflammation of the uterus Suppurative inflammation of the uterus is an infectious and inflammatory disease characterized by purulence accumulation in the uterine cavity and inflammation of the endometrium. This pathology mostly occurs in elderly animals (older than four-five years) but there occur cases even at a younger age (beginning from four months). This pathology may be heterospecific and it varies among patients depending on the chronicity of the disease. Piometra may occur in any breed of dog or cat specimen.Read article
